I'm back...Sort of

Hi Folks! Sorry for the radio silence as of late. Since getting back from vacation, I've been heads down in projects. First, there's a lot going on at the office and then in the evenings, I've been hard at work developing my presentations for Lotus Developer2006.

I promise to be back with some new content soon. I've learned some interesting points lately from performing user testing on some new apps. Until then, I'd like to point you to yet another great post from Kathy Sierra. This time, she talks about 'Usability Through Fun'. She makes some good points...It's definitely worth a read.

I try to add fun elements to my applications where possible. In fact, the time reporting database at my last employer still has Spongebob Squarepants in the header! If you work in a stuffy environment, you can always inject some entertaining elements into your documentation. You won't have to worry, since no one reads that stuff anyway! :-)

Hope everyone is enjoying the summer. Talk to you soon...

Ah, but the million dollar question is: did they pay a royalty for his Squareness?:-)

Welcome back!

Nahhh...cuz then we'd have to pay a royalty for the Stewie (from "Family Guy") 'easter egg' that Chris hid in another one of our apps to be fair... and who wants to play fair ;-)

(Yep, Chris, Stewie still lives...hehe)

LOL...well yes...did I say Spongebob Squarepants? I was just using that as a completely hypothetical example. Nope...not using any licensed characters in my databases...no sir...not a chance! ;-)
